The past nine days have not been so kind to the Bulls or maybe it;s just how the NBA season goes.
Either way, three losses in the past five games have the Bulls at 42-35 and fifth in the Eastern conference. Chicago has five games left in this Derrick Rose-less season and it’s probably too late to catch up to the Brooklyn Nets for the No. 4 seed and home-court in the first round. Honestly I don’t think the Bulls care about playing at home and it has nothing to do with their mediocre 22-17 home record.
The Bulls have been short-handed for several weeks now and that’s not including Rose, who apparently is still waiting for God to let him know when he can play again.
Joakim Noah has missed games with a foot injury, Kirk Hinrich has been out with a series of injuries and Marco Belinelli only recently came back after an abdominal injury.
In the Bulls’ last defeat, a 101-98 home loss to the Toronto Raptors, all-star Luol Deng missed the game with a right hip injury. The starting lineup has been depleted of its two all-star players in Noah and Deng and maybe that’s why the Bulls have recently loss to the Detroit Pistons and the Washington Wizards along with the loss to the 30-48 Raptors.
Just get healthy for the playoffs, I guess. It looks like a first-round matchup with the Nets is coming up and the Bulls have a good chance to advance, they did beat them on the road just a week ago.
