The summer of 2013 is going to see some of the biggest name in hip hop releasing some very highly anticipated albums. The world better be ready for some unabashed bragging and knockout punchlines.
One of the first album’s in salivating over is Earl Sweatshirt’s “Doris.” When Earl was just 16, he released “Earl,” a highly crude and lyrical mix tape. People couldn’t believe he was only 16, thanks in part to the vulgar nature of his lyrics, but also his advanced writing skills. After a couple years away I’m thinking Earl is going to come back with a vengenance.
Kanye West. Yes, he’s getting ready to be a father. Yes, he’s been in Paris recording for the past few months. I’m guessing you wouldn’t want to be around a pregnant Kim Kardashian either. Anyways, Mr. West is one of the best rappers in the game. Every project he releases has its own sounds and style. Who can forget the massive success that “My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy” was. He tested the boundaries of rap and came out of the ashes like a Phoenix. I can’t wait for the new album, I’m sure it will be interesting to say the least.
Drake hasn’t released an album since his grammy winning “Take Care,” but he seems to be preparing for something even better, if thats possible. His recent song releases, “5 am in Toronto,” “Started From the Bottom,” and “Girls Love Beyonce” have all been smash hits. “5 AM” showed his haters that he still has bars for days. “Started From the Bottom” was a street single that lit the world on fire, while “Girls Love Beyonce” was an r&b song that he made for the ladies.
