So many pretty dress part 3-The American Civil War

So here is part 3. I label it the American Civil War which is kind of cheating because this technically falls under the Victorian Era. This being said the Victorian Era lasted nearly 70 years. Within this there was many different types of fashion. Of this era one of my favorites is the hoop skirt. This piece made a women’s dress much wider and was often made out of wood or bone. Here are some of my favorite hooped dresses on the web.

This is a women’s blog from Nashiville, TN. She visited the Belmont Museum  which has a dress collection. My favorite is the pink silk like one on the left.

The second is a video about a Mary Todd Lincoln dress owned by the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum in Springfield. The dress is pretty and the information is great.
