Knicks split the first two road games

Mike ConleyThe Knicks let a win slip away in Memphis, and then almost did it again New Orleans the following night.

The Knicks lost to the Grizzlies on Tuesday 98-93. Tim Hardaway Jr. and Carmelo Anthony led the team in points with 23 and 22.

The Grizzlies had five players score in double figures with Mike Conley leading the way with 22.

The following night, Carmelo Anthony ignited for 42 points to lead the Knicks in a 98-91 victory over the Pelicans. J.R. Smith and Hardaway Jr. helped as well scoring 19 and 16 apiece.

Eric Gordon led the Pelicans with 28 points.

Knicks’ guard Iman Shumpert left in the third quarter after spraining the same knee that he suffered the torn ACL to in 2012.

The injury to Shumpert could possibly halt all trade rumors surrounding him. There are rumors of the Knicks severely wanted to ship Raymond Felton out of town for another point guard. The Knicks’ are willing to get rid of him so badly, that they are willing to ship Shumpert along for the ride.

The Atlanta Hawks’ Jeff Teague, Toronto Raptors’ Kyle Lowry, and the Los Angeles Clippers’ Darren Collison are on the Knicks radar with the trade deadline being today at 2 p.m. central time.

The Knicks’ will be traveling to play the Magic and Hawks over the weekend to end a four-game road trip.
