Rascal Flatts, the country-pop trio consisting of frontman Gary LeVox, guitarist Joe Don Rooney, and bassist/pianist Jay DeMarcus, will have their song “Compass” featured in the upcoming film “Heaven is For Real,”set to hit theaters April 16.
This movie is based off the book of the same name, written by Todd Burpo with Lynn Vincent. In this book Burpo, a pastor in small-town Nebraska, tells the story of his then four-year-old son Colton who experienced what heaven is really like when there are complications in an emergency surgery.
The song “Compass,” which closes out the film, is a ballad perfectly fit for the uplifting message of this movie, as shown by the following lyrics:
When you’re in the darkness
And this world feels heartless
I will see you, hear you, reach you
I am standing by
And when you’re lost and think no one can find you
I will remind you you’re not alone
I will be there, I’ll be the one to guide you
My love will be your compass
I will lead you home.
This track will also be featured on Rascal Flatts’ upcoming album, Rewind, set to drop May 13. The first and title track off this album was sent to country radio January 21, and is currently No. 62 on the Billboard Hot 100.
