Atlanta leads the Knicks by two games

Paul MilsapThe Atlanta Hawks split their two games this week to keep a two game lead over the New York Knicks for the last playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.

The Hawks lost at home against the Detroit Pistons on Tuesday 102-95.

Rodney Stuckey led the Pistons on the night with 29 points, with Greg Monroe helping out with 21. Andre Drummond also scored in double figures with 19 and grabbing 17 rebounds.

Atlanta was led by five players that scored in double figures. Paul Milsap scored 24 points and had 12 boards. Jeff Teague scored 15 points and 9 assists.

The next night in Atlanta the Hawks beat the Boston Celtics 105-97.

Six players scored in double figures for the Hawks, including Milsap who scored 14 points and grabbed 14 boards. Elton Brand also had a double with 13 points and 13 rebounds. Jeff Teague however, led the team with 19 points and 8 dimes.

Avery Bradley led the Celtics in scoring with 24 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists. Rajon Rondo had 19 points, 4 rebounds and 112 assists. Jared Sullinger tallied a double-double with 1 points and 11 rebounds.

Both the Knicks and the Hawks have four games left in the season to determine which will make the playoffs.

Atlanta will head to Brooklyn to face the Nets tonight, then host the Miami Heat tomorrow.
