“Training is doing your homework. It’s not exciting. More often than not it’s tedious. There is certainly no glory in it. But you stick with it, over time, and incrementally through no specific reason, your body changes. Your mind becomes calloused to effort. You stop thinking of running as difficult or interesting or magical. It just becomes what you do. It becomes a habit.” — Jeff Edmonds
I think this quote is extremely inspiring. People give me a hard time because they think I’m running to lose weight. It started out that way, but it changed over time. I’m not trying to do these web blogs to persuade people; I’m just sharing my experience and what I’ve learned. Anything that you start new is never easy at first. And with running, I never let it get easy. But the thought of pushing through the pain and knowing that I make a goal for myself and I achieve it is so self rewarding. That’s why I do it. To convince myself that I can face the pain and stress, and come out feeling even better about myself in the end.
