Country Weekly March Man-ness

The brackets are in for Taste of Country’s March Man-Ness, and American Idol winner Scotty McCreery has officially been named Country’s Sexiest Male for 2014.

The competition, working similarly to the NCAA March Madness, started with 32 male country singers in four different areas. “The Outlaws” featured artists like Brantley Gilbert, Dierks Bentley, Colt Ford and Eric Church. George Strait, Garth Brooks, and Alan Jackson were all in “The Legends” category. Luke Bryan, Jake Owen, Keith Urban, and Chris Young were all members of “The Ladykillers” category. Finally, “The Young Bucks” featured artists like Scotty McCreery, Hunter Hayes, and Dan + Shay.

The fans voted for who they believed to be the sexiest men out of the pairs, which became more narrow with each round. The final four came down to McCreery versus George Strait, and Luke Bryan versus Dierks Bentley. Bryan beat out Bentley to face McCreery in the final round, from which the 20-year-old McCreery emerged the champion.

McCreery shot to country stardom in 2010 after winning season 10 of American Idol. His deep voice reminiscent of Josh Turners has captured the hearts of many.
